Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, it is the day for feasting and the family did eat but I still have enough leftovers to keep us feed for weeks if I could my hubby to eat leftovers and some of the things he isn’t fond of such as stuffing.

Well, now to pick up where I left off on my thank you’s.

17.  I am thankful for my sisters.  Both Autumn and Margo are willing to help whenever they come to a family gathering.

18.  My Husband, he is so patient and willing to put up with me when I am tried and fussy and not always so kind.  He must really love me.

19.  Color pages and crayons that keep the kids busy while I finish putting together dinner when they are hungry and don’t want to wait any longer.

20.  Vacuum cleaners that can pick up the crumbs that the kids leave along with all of the pet hair that our loving pets shed.

21.  Traeger grills, I love my traeger grill is always ready to help create an outstanding meal that everyone loves…and well the clean up is easy.

22.  Hobbies that keep the dark days bright as when it is cold or rainy it life can be depressing but as long as you have something to do inside where it is warm helps make those days better.

23.  All the great artist that are willing to share their knowledge.

24.  The Hallmark Channel being committed to the family and for providing Christmas movies for an extended period of time.  Christmas is my favorite holiday, so I love listening to Christmas music and watching movies no matter what time of year it is.

25.  Christmas…that is the day my savior was born.

26.  Disposable plates, flatware and cups….there are less dishes to wash after a family gathering and less work and worry for my wonderful hubby.

27.  Cleaning products such as vinegar, dish soap and laundry soap…they help keep things clean, bright and shiny.

28.  Furniture that has leg rest so that I can just sit and relax some with my legs up.

Well enough for today.

More things that I am Thankful for.

More things that I am Thankful for:

5.  My health.  Yes I may have high blood pressure, but the meds are keeping it under control which is great.

6.  Our loving pets.  Mini drives me nuts at times as she loves being in my lap all the time, as for boots, he loves tormenting daddy which makes me laugh at times.

7. Laughter, it is what helps us keep our sanity and get through the long rough days.

8.  Family, the are always there to help celebrate the good times and hold you up in the hard times.

9.  Technology, it is something that we once didn’t have but now can’t live without.  It might drive us nuts at times, but without it, I would have no job and finding information about anything would be more time consuming.

10.  Frozen foods, yes I love to cook but after a long day at the office, it’s not as easy as one would think to come home at 6 pm and try to get dinner on the table…the frozen meals and vegetables sure make it easier along with reducing the number of trips to the store.

11.  My auto-mechanic, he is there anytime I need him to fix the problems with the car that would keep me from being able to get to work or out to play.  It may cause some but he is always good about not over charging me, not all mechanics are that way.

12.  Hallmark channel and Christmas movies.  Yes they play the same movies over and over, but they are always good, clean and up lifting.  I know I usually end up crying no matter how what the movie is, it always touches my heart in some way.

13.  Great hobbies, I love scrapbooking, it is a way to help remove keep me from being a part of technology then a use of technology, it gives me something to do when there is nothing else to do and the days are dark and rainy, it gives me a way to be creative and remember the past memories, good and bad and putting them all into what they really mean today.  I love square dancing, it is a great way to exercise and spend time with my loving husband.  The other dances are always supportive even when I am down.

14.  The teachers that believed in me even though I didn’t believe in myself.  I would have never got my degree without them believing in me and encourage me to return and continue as they knew I could do anything that I put my mind too.

15.  The flowers and trees that bloom in the spring and then loose their leaves in the fall.  They make things beautiful and full love live.  They remind of us that even though there are dark days, bright and happy days are just around the corner and we can get there if we just hold on a little while longer.

16.  The Pacific Northwest, after being in Oregon and Washington for most of my life the short times that I have lived in other parts of the country sure make me realize who much in love  am with the Pacific Northwest.  The flowers and trees, the mountains and ocean, are all with in reach every day of the year no matter what the weather looks like.  The greenery is always abundant even when the flowers are sleeping for the winter.

Well, that is now 16 things…more in a few days.

November is the month of Thanksgiving

I have noticed over the last several years various friends posting a daily thankful post on Facebook. One might wonder why? Are they inly thankful during the month of November? Or is it the only time they slow down enough to think about what they are thankful for? Does it really matter their reason?

So why don’t I post things I am thankful for? I have to admit it is a time issue and a memory issue. I have a heck of a time getting 2 blog post done in some months so doing a daily post on Facebook is just way more then I am willing to take on right now. Since I am posting on the blog today, I figured I should list a few things that I am thankful for.
1. The good LORD. He was been with me through the good times and the bad times.
2. My loving husband, who is so very understanding when I get home from work and am so tired that I can’t even think.
3. All who died from my freedom. Without their sacrifice the world would be a total different place.
4. For my job. I am grateful to have a job and it is great that I also enjoy what I do.

Noverber has been busy so far

Well it is now November 10 so we are 1/3 of the way through the month. Last weekend we were in Roseburg for my 30 year class reunion. We had fun. It was great to see kids from high school….actually many of them I have known since kindergarten. We toured the high school, it is very different from when I attended.

The thanksgiving invitations have been mailed and I am working on the menu. The menu is going to be a little different this year as I am not going to make candied sweet potatoes since hardly anyone eats them. I will be making baked sweet potatoes i stead. I am also not going to make any of the normal salads but I am going to pick up a mix from Costco. We will be having pumpkin pie and for a second option, I think I will make a mud pie with the nut crust.

Got to go, more later.
